WHAT IS RESTYLANE^® DEFYNE?
Restylane^® Defyne is a dermal filler injected under the (facial) skin. Once in place, it helps smooth away your “laugh lines” – the wrinkles and folds that may form at the sides of your nose and run down toward the corners of your mouth. Restylane^® Defyne is made out of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring sugar, found in the body that gives the skin moisture, volume, and elasticity – and a small amount of lidocaine, which is a commonly used local anesthetic to numb the skin. Restylane^® Defyne is made using a manufacturing process called XpresHAn Technology™, which creates a smooth, injectable gel that can give your skin a natural, soft look. As we age, our skin will often develop lines running from the sides of the nose toward the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds) and the lines that run from the corner of your mouth toward the chin (marionette lines). These lines have a tendency to be some of the deepest and worst wrinkles along the face, as they are subject to a number of different natural facial movements.

HOW DOES RESTYLANE^® DEFYNE WORK?
Using the same unique cross-linking of the gel, once injected into the necessary treatment areas (marionette lines & nasolabial folds), Restylane^® Defyne fills the depressions beneath the skin while supporting your facial expressions and adding additional flexibility in the skin.

Again, as we age, our skin, especially the skin along our facial area begins to lose its elasticity and overall volume. As a result, “laugh lines”, a common term referring to the creases that run from the sides of your nose toward the corners of your mouth, become more pronounced. Restylane^® Defyne injectable gel is designed to temporarily help counter this by smoothing out these wrinkles and folds and restoring a natural, soft look to your face. Restylane^® Defyne has been shown to maintain this effect for up to 12 months.

WHY USE DEFYNE OVER REFYNE? AND WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?
Each filler in the Restylane^® family of dermal fillers is specifically engineered and designed to target a specific area of the face.

Restylane^® Refyne and Defyne are similar in that they target almost the same exact area of the face, however, Defyne is formulated to target the more severe depressions that Refyne simply cannot. An individual should only use Restylane^® Defyne if their facial volume loss is severe enough to cause deep marionette lines or nasolabial folds.
